The latest craze has its own festival now; that’s right, food trucks. This was a great way to introduce the immense variety of dishes these creative mobile restaurants had to offer. Everything was offered from slow cooked BBQ to easy to handle portions of Vietnamese beef noodle soup (Pho).

Foursquare day at Firkin & Phoenix Pub

The day was upon us where we had to celebrate our love with our peers for our social media check-in game of choice, Foursquare. Coincidentally, it was held on April 16 (Get it? 42 = 16.) It was hosted by our good friend @foursquareHOU and held at the one and only Firkin & Phoenix Pub. On a side note, WTFoursquare.com lauched as well!

2nd Annual Texas Tequila Throwdown 2011 Hosted by BiteMeHouston.com

Texas made tequila, live music, and great crowd; how else can you make a Saturday night better! On March 12th, Mike From BiteMeHouston.com held an annual event to bring in donations for the Houston Food Bank and to showcase some Texas grown tequila. 12 different local companies were on hand showcasing their tasty drinks, some in the form of margaritas, others with soda and lemon.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. Every October I make sure to check out the local Haunted Houses in the Houston and surrounding areas or when i’m visiting other states. What sparked my interest in haunted houses was when I was younger my parents would take me to the local haunted houses every year. I was so terrified of them but for some reason they always gave me a huge thrill. After being a bit burned out of the same houses in Houston I decided to head to Dallas, TX to see what they had to offer. Continue reading

BrewLicious International Beer Festival

Last month I was given the opportunity to attend the Brewmasters International Beer Festival held at the Moody Garden Hotel in Galveston, TX. Once my friend told me there would be beer tasting of over 150 craft and specialty brews, I was sold. Not only did they have many types of amazing beer, but also had specialty chefs that paired specific foods and desserts along with those amazing beers. Continue reading
